Early socialisation is an important part of having a well-balanced, confident adult dog. Dogs under six months old (particularly between the ages of six to 12 weeks) are more accepting of new things. This is a crucial time for a dog’s socialisation. Coming to classes will help to socialise your puppy with people and other dogs. It will also give you the chance to chat with other owners who may be experiencing the same concerns as you.
It is reward based clicker training. The clicker is a “conditioned reinforcer”. A conditioned reinforcer is a meaningless signal (noise, light or motion) which is deliberately presented during the delivery of the desired behaviour. It is then followed by a reward. This teaches the dog that what it has just done is the behaviour you required.
Adult classes are broken in to three stages, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
The classes are usually 5-6 puppies/dogs. We are limited on space, but I prefer smaller classes so people get the help and individual attention, and their puppy require. Weather permitting, Thetford classes are inside AND outside.
